Established the design language for a Filipino payments platform across its merchant web portal and consumer mobile app, and built the portal's frontend on Laravel.
Payments for a local ecosystem
Payborit is a DigiPH payments platform for Filipino merchants and users: a web portal where merchants generate payment QR codes, take payments and track transactions, and a mobile app where people send, receive and manage money.
I established the design language across both, and it became the visual and functional blueprint the two products were built against.
Designing one, building the other
I did not write the Flutter app. I did the design, delivered its assets, and reviewed the implementation for fidelity alongside the lead full-stack developer. On the web side I went further and built the frontend of the Laravel merchant portal myself, on HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Bootstrap, improving how it held up on smaller screens.
Handing a design to someone else to build and staying involved through implementation is a different skill from building it yourself. Fintech is also where trust is the interface: a payment screen that looks uncertain is a payment that does not happen.
